Artist's Description

This painting was inspired by one summer day last year when I took a trip to Stockbridge Mass. to see the Norman Rockwell museum. After I finished in the museum I took a walk out onto the grounds. Around the back is a stone house that's used as an office for the museum. Back in the 1800's it was a private residence. It has a beautiful area enclosed with a stone wall and path, which I took many photos of. Also on the grounds there were red Adirondack chairs for visitors to sit in. I took some pics of these also which I thought would make a good painting someday. When I came to do this work, I thought the chairs would look great in this enclosed yard. The red against the green just pops. I decided to add a table with drinks also to give it a little extra touch.
