Description
This is the Florence Griswold house in Old Lyme Ct. It's a Greek Revival built in 1817. In the early 1900's the house was owned by Florence Griswold. She had trouble keeping up with the expenses of owning a large home, so she decided to turn her place into a boarding house. One of the first boarders was an artist, and he spread the word to other artist friends, and soon enough, the house turned into one of Americas first art colonies. This was the beginning of American Impressionism.
This painting would look great in any room of the house.
